Schools and Universities

For universities, study abroad programmes, visiting faculty and educational groups.

I work with universities and educational groups to develop programmes exploring French gastronomy and culture.

My work as a food historian and journalist informs the guided walks, lectures, seminars and tasting workshops I create for students and faculty. Sessions can be tailored to different areas of study and are designed to take students beyond the usual tourist routes.

Previous programmes have explored themes including food and migration, terroir, seasonality, and the relationship between food and identity.

Programmes include:

  • Food walks through Paris markets, market streets and lesser-known neighbourhoods
  • Visits with independent producers and artisans
  • Lectures on French gastronomy and food culture
  • Cheese and wine tastings and workshops, including visits to traditional cheese and wine caves
  • Chocolate and pastry walks

I have designed and hosted these experiences for a range of institutions, including Emory University, Indiana University, the University of Illinois, the University of Miami and Michigan State University.
